How quickly one forgets....

....how nocturnal newborns are.

He's happy to sleep all day but seems to come alive after his night feeds. So far he's not too bad to settle. But it's still early days. I don't think he's quite woken up properly yet.

Yeah, I think 3 weeks is when most of them wake up, isn't it?

What I don't get is how they are kicking and doing acrobatics the day before they are born and then, the moment they get out, they do nothing at all! But that fact makes for very lovely long cuddles. My youngest, now a 3-year old boy, is hard to get still for a cuddle.

We are surviving...a rough night last night of refusing the breast but fortunately we have been there and done that with previous children so expressing and giving him bottles saved the day (or the night in this case). And this also somehow seemed to calm down my oversupply issue so today he has been back on and feeding again. Called the lactation consultant in the middle of the night in desperation so hoping she will call me this week with some reassuring words too :)
