I remember going to fellowship teas at our church on Sunday nights with my family. And being the good Methodists (around the time it was morphing into the Uniting Church) that we were, there would always be singing after we'd finished eating.
This song was a frequent request. It came to my mind last night because Chris and I were reading from Isaiah 51 for our daily (to be honest, maybe a bit less than daily lately....) Bible reading.
The tune's pretty catchy. I could still sing it as easily as I did when I was a kid. And although Christian music has become far more sophisticated these days, I still think those old songs straight from the words in the Bible are pretty cool.
